today was pretty wet and grey, so i tried to leave my hearts around dry places that people might run into. the first is a bus shelter on hale road, the second on bus 401 at 8am.

i like how the pink heart is peering out the window..

hearts from italy

the very first submission to paper hearts is from Eli, thank you :)

for a guaranteed smile, read this: "Today my boyfriend and I went to a children's playground armed with lots of paper hearts, with the words LOVE and AMORE written on them. We stuck them all over the toys (slides, swings and twirly things) and then waited until 4pm when school finishes. 

The park was full of kids, about 50 of them. We waited and watched, until all the hearts were found. Most children ran to their mothers and gave the hearts to them for safe keeping. Other children just looked at them, but were to timid to pick them up. One kid went on a 'hunt' and ended up with most of the hearts."

...told you you would smile! i can just imagine all the kids getting so excited :)

Eli is currently in Italy, and runs a pretty spiffy blog called eli and toggle with lots of camera links and tips (polaroids & film) and other general nice things!

meant putting hearts in trees, posting a message on someone's letterbox, placing a heart on a bridge, and hiding one in a nest i found!

i dotted the path along the lake with colourful hearts - i hope it cheered up the cyclists, joggers, walkers, doggies and ducks along their way!

day 1

welcome! paper hearts project started on a sunday afternoon with lots of coloured paper, blutack and a camera. inspired by the ever creative and cheerful katie sokoler from color me katie, the idea is just to spread a bit of love around the world.

maybe someone will walk past the hearts and smile, maybe they'll even pick one up and take it home. if you like the idea of this, send in images of your paper hearts to paperheartsproject(at)gmail.com (under 1mb) and i'll post them up!
